Georgia NurseCare is proud to be an approved provider for Georgia’s New Options Waiver (WOW) and Comprehensive Supports (COMP) waiver programs which were designed to offer home and community-based services for people with a developmental or intellectual disability. People who are considering institutional care for individuals (ICF/ID) with intellectual disabilities or other related conditions may be eligible for home and community-based services as an alternative through the programs. In order to qualify for NOW/COMP, the individual must first meet the criteria for Medicaid payment in an institution and certain other criteria. If they qualify, the individual is then offered the choice between community-based services or institutional care.
